American Utility Management (AUM) is the premier utility management and energy services partner to the multifamily housing industry.  Our advanced billing and invoice processing platforms combined with our team’s knowledge and expertise enables us to provide the industry’s most complete suite of solutions to help you lower your utility costs and improve net operating income.

AUM opened its doors in June, 1994, as a small utility conservation company focused on water conservation programs and soon grew to offer resident billing and utility sub-metering services for multifamily communities. Through continuous innovation, AUM expanded its services, as well as its technology platform, to include processing and payment of utility invoices and management of energy and utility usage.  And we've grown our client relationships beyond multifamily to also serving the needs of student housing and commercial properties.

Today, AUM processes over a million utility invoices a year and over 5 million resident statements. We were the first utility billing provider to become SAS70 Type II certified and have continued to deliver best-in-class resident services through the new SSAE SOC 16 Type II Certification.  Last year, AUM increased multifamily property values by over $125 million through reductions in energy expenses using on-site energy audits.
